The region

Our winery is nestled in the heart of Garda Trentino, where the Brenta mountains meet the lake,
creating the enchanting backdrop of Riva del Garda.

This region unfolds with a kaleidoscope of landscapes, from the rugged mountain peaks to the Mediterranean ambiance surrounding the lake, adorned with olive groves, lemon trees, palms, and laurels. The climate here is marked by mild temperatures—refreshing, breezy summers and mild, brief winters. Throughout the day, the Pelèr and Ora winds, distinctive to Upper Garda, take centre stage. The Pelèr sweeps from the north in the morning, while the Ora arrives from the south in the late morning or afternoon.

Shaped by the retreat of glaciers, the “busa” is a valley featuring steep slopes with calcareous soils on its hillsides and an alluvial valley floor with medium-textured soil rich in clays. The diverse terrain, varied altitudes, and climatic conditions all contribute to allowing each grape variety to showcase its unique characteristics. In this setting, our vineyards are meticulously distributed across Riva del Garda, Arco, and Tenno. The hilly landscapes of Tenno provide ideal conditions for our white grape varieties, benefiting from high altitudes, calcareous soils, and mountain streams, resulting in freshness, tangy, and refined wines.

tangy, and refined wines. Meanwhile, our red grape varieties thrive in the warmer climate of the valley floor, at altitudes ranging from 100 to 150 metres above sea level. The clay-rich soils and intricate conditions ensure optimal grape ripening, contributing to wines of exceptional quality.

The vineyards

Our vineyards, at altitudes between 100 and 800 metres above sea level,
boast a planting density ranging from 5,000 to 7,500 vines per hectare.

TENNO (Vandrino and Fontanelle Vineyards)

Spanning approximately two hectares, these vineyards are divided into various plots on calcareous soils with a light texture. Here, we grow Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir, and the altitude varies from 350 to 600 metres above sea level. It is a natural amphitheatre exposed to winds from both the south and north. Tenno Hill is exposed to the south-east, east, and north-east, guaranteeing optimal sun exposure during the early part of the day. Perfectly suited for our white grape varieties, these vineyards yield fresh, tangy and refined wines.
The vine ages range from 5 to 25 years.

ARCO (Piscol Vineyard)

Sprawling over a hectare and planted with Chardonnay and Merlot in the early 2000s, this vineyard sits at 150 metres above sea level, surrounded by olive groves and woods.
The clayey soil, rich in medium-textured limestone, coupled with an east-facing exposure, guarantees optimal grape ripening. Both Chardonnay and Merlot from the Piscol Vineyard create distinctly fresh and tangy wines.
The vine ages range from 12 to 25 years.

ARCO (Bolognano and Rovero Vineyards)

Extending over one hectare, these vineyards are home to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon planted in the early 2000s. Located at 130 metres above sea level on the Bolognano fan in the Rovero district, the clayey soil rich in pebbles, coupled with a west-facing exposure, ensures excellent grape ripening and prolonged exposure to the sun in the afternoon. Our Rebo Vineyard, close to the village of Bolognano, shares similar climate and soil characteristics with the Rovero Vineyard but presents a slightly looser profile with more loam content. These vineyards deliver wines with concentrated fruit, silky tannins, and structured acidity. The vine age is 25 years.

Riva del Garda

Located in the vicinity of our company offices, in the heart of Riva at 100 metres above sea level, these vineyards are dedicated to growing Rebo and Chardonnay. The alluvial soil, rich in sand and pebbles from the fan formed by the Albola stream, creates a unique micro-climate. A significant temperature difference between day and night, influenced by the cool air descending from the stream gorge, ensures wines from these vineyards achieve excellent ripeness while maintaining a balanced profile.
The vine ages range from 5 to 20 years.
